The Long Drought

A village nurse in central Mali lifts a slab of dry lake bed looking for moisture. Due to climate change, this region had experienced a multi-year drought which threatened the livelihood and health of this region years before the term “climate change” became part of the global vocabulary. Weather patterns shifted due to increased fossil fuel useage by “developed” countries impacting those living in areas where fossil fuel is rarely used.
